Rally Open Weekend News by Rachel Baldwin January 2008
As our last ‘Rally Open Weekend’ proved to be a massive success we have now set the dates for our ‘2008 Rally Open Weekend’.
Last year many of you came to visit us during the day and many of you stayed overnight at our weekend pitch, opposite our showroom. This year we are offering overnight parking again, however please note that we do not have room for everyone and space is limited, therefore, I urge you to ring Mark, our General Manager on 01422 364222 as soon as possible to guarantee an overnight booking.
During the day our sales team and representatives from the leading manufactures will be on hand to assist you with any queries that you have. Again we will be having free tea, coffee, sandwiches and biscuits all day Saturday and Sunday, so with that, and the fantastic offers we will have available in the accessory shop, we look forward to seeing hundreds more smiling faces!!
For those of you staying overnight, on the Saturday we will be having entertainment at the local Cricket Club. We have organised a fun packed evening including free bingo followed by the blue’s singer ‘Jerry The Hat’. Last year we had a tremendously successful raffle and gave away a host of prizes from our accessory shop, this year we aim to do better! Due to popular demand we will again be providing a pie and pea supper and a free mini bus service running from the showroom to the Cricket Club.
For those of you coming to stop on the Friday 14th March, as well as the Saturday night, you will be more than welcome to join my Dad and the rest of the team along at the local pub ‘The Volunteer Arms’ for the usual quiet teatime drink!!
All of us at Richard Baldwin Motorhomes thoroughly enjoyed our ‘Rally Open Weekend’ last year and we hope that we can make this year even better.
We look forward to seeing you in March, and please don’t forget to ring as soon as possible to book your overnight parking.
Hope to see you soon.
Rachel Baldwin.
News Round Up by Rachel Baldwin December 2007
Hi everybody
Since the last update life has been very busy. I have recently left school and I am now working full time in the office at the service centre. I am really enjoying working alongside Steve and his team.
I would like to welcome two new members of staff. We have a new salesman Richard and a new mechanic, John, who works at the motorhome service centre to cope with our very busy workload.
Here at Richard Baldwin Motorhomes, we can't believe that 2007 is nearly over! This year has gone very quick, but it has been a fantastic year for us. We are however, looking forward to a bigger and better 2008! We have applied for planning permission to increase the size of our forecourt which should nearly double our vehicle display area. Hopefully these plans will be passed in early 2008, this will enable us to stock more vans giving you, the customer ,even more choice.
Here's an update of what's been happening in the last few months at Richard Baldwin Motorhomes.
The Northern Motorhome Show held in York on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of September proved to be a big success yet again. Mark and his sales team were more than happy to help the hundreds of you that visited them on their stand and again broke record sales, then followed up with sales when back at base, amounting to retail sales of over 1m from customers old and new, so a BIG THANK YOU to you all once again. Next year we plan to do Lincoln as well as the Peterborough and York outdoor shows.
December 6th saw the annual MMM awards held at the NEC in Birmingham. Mum and Dad had a brilliant night and saw us here at Richard Baldwin Motorhomes coming home with the silver award in Northern Dealer of the Year. We are very pleased with this award as it still shows that we are providing the best service we can in both sales and service. We would like to thank all our customers both old and new who voted for us yet again. It is your continuing support that drives us to be the best Motorhome Dealer in the North.
Also after this years successful open days and party night we are planning one for 2008, so please keep looking for details of this.
Bye for now

News Round Up by Rachel Baldwin August 2007
Hi everybody
My sincere apologies for not updating the news page sooner but I have been very busy over the past few months:-
Firstly, my Mum, Heather, has had to undergo two operations to have both her hips replaced so we have all been rallying round and doing Mums chores and generally looking after Dad. She had both operations within 5 weeks of each other and you will be pleased to know she is now up and about and all is well.
Secondly, I have been studying towards my AS levels at school and I am hoping to go to university to qualify as a primary school teacher. Thirdly, I have been learning to drive and have now passed my test – first time!
Hope you will accept my apologies and understand why the newsletter has been delayed.
Since my last newsletter life has continued to be busy at Richard Baldwin Motorhomes and we are still getting complemented on our achievements on being voted Number One in the North of England and runner up in Dealer of the Year.
Our first Rally and open weekend on the 24/25th March was a resounding success with over 40 vans stopping overnight and hundreds of day visitors. The nighttime entertainment at our local Cricket Club proved a massive success and we gave away over one thousand pounds in bingo prizes, and thousands of pounds worth of shop accessories in raffle prizes. Everyone was up dancing to ‘Jerry the Hat’, one of the best vocalists in the Country, and everyone was completely overwhelmed and made him do three encores. As a last minute surprise my Dad, Richard, subsidised the bar and all drinks were just £1 each. What with that and free bacon sandwiches Saturday and Sunday there were many happy faces and we would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people who thanked us by email, telephone calls and letters. We are looking to do the same thing again early next year but we are not sure of the dates just yet and we will let you know in good time.
With sales still increasing year on year and our offsite service centre going from strength to strength, things are always positive and that’s a good reason, if you have never been to what’s undoubtedly one of the nicest showrooms and dealerships in the Country, to come and have a look at us for sales, service, insurance and accident repairs, accessories, or, anything to do with motorhomes. Please feel free to telephone our service manager, ‘smiler’ Steve who as a lot of you already know is only too pleased to help, on 01422 382333, for any service or repairs, etc.
Our annual visit to the prestigious Northern Motorhome show at York racecourse is fast coming up on us on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd September and we shall have our usual stand and position, stand number 89, with approximately 15 to 20 motorhomes to view, presenting new and quality used motorhomes and representing the top manufacturers, whose product we supply, that makes us the Number One in the North of England !!!! Mark and his sales team will be having his usual Saturday tea time drinks on our stand, unfortunately this year my Dad will only be there on the Friday because, you know our familys passion for stockcar racing, it’s the Formula one World Final at Kings Lyn, Norfolk, where we are one of the sponsors of the event.
I think that’s all for now, apologies again for the lateness of this newsletter, I promise a prompt update after the York show. Please feel free to email anything you need mentioning on our monthly news page. Bye for now
